1. Amla – Indian Gooseberry:
It is widely used as a medicine to cure various diseases and to increase immunity. It is used as medicine to treat acidity, baldness, ulcers, constipation, chronic headache, darkness around the eyes, diabetes, dyspepsia, dysentery, premature ejaculation, hair loss, high blood pressure, hydrocele, increase in blood toxicity, jaundice, loose vagina, menstrual disturbance, obesity, pimples, and urinary track troubles. It is widely considered as a miracle herb, and it was used by the great rishi, Chayavan to create a formulation to get back youth and vitality.
The Science: Several scientific studies conclusively prove that Indian gooseberries have strong antiviral and antimicrobial properties. There is sufficient evidence that its extracts induce apoptosis and modify gene expression and can cure rheumatoid arthritis and osteoporosis. It has strong anti-cancer properties and can treat certain cancers. One recent animal study proved that Amla reduced the severity of acute pancreatitis in rats. It also promoted the spontaneous repair and regeneration process of the pancreas occurring after an acute attack.
