Home Remedy for Low Bone Density Among Women

Most women tend to lose the mineral content in their bone as they age. There are several other factor for a low bone density, several research studies conclusively provide that age, family history of osteoporosis, depression, consumption of coffee, and consumption of tea to be associated with low BMD. Multivariate analysis by linear regression of these factors prove that among all the factors, family history, tea consumption and age are highly related to bone mineral loss.

1) Ashwagandha (Indian Ginseng):

The ancient Ayurvedic herb Ashwagandha has numerous health benefits (Know more about Ashwagandha).  Ashwagandha relieves stress and depression (depression is also one of the root causes for low bone density), and treats chronic ailments. It improves stamina and endurance power, it also cures hormonal imbalance in the body and cures bone density related issues.

2) Coral:

In Ayurveda it is called as Parval. It is the dietary calcium in its purest form. This is derived from red coral roots, and has been used in Ayurveda since ancient times.

3) Shatavari ( Asparagus racemosus):

The herb like ashwagandha offers numerous health benefits and it also treats nervous and gastric disorders. It improves the overall health of female reproductive system and bring the hormone levels of to an optimum level.

Amla Juice (Indian Gooseberry )is another herbal supplement that can aid in improving the bone density. Currently several studies research this aspect of Indian gooseberries.  One particular study conducted in Italy have shown that extracts from the Indian gooseberry could be used as an effective treatment for osteoporosis. Amla also has good amount of calcium in it.
