Arthritis is a chronic disorder that involves inflammation of one or more joints in the body. There are over 100 different types of arthritis, however the most common form is the degenerative form of arthritis caused due to age or diseases. This article will deal with more information about arthritis, its symptoms, causes and natural ayurvedic cures.
Arthritis is not a modern disease; archeologists have uncovered prehistoric skeletons of men with arthritis. Modern medicine has not yet found the reason or a proper cure for this disease. There is no known medicine to help in the regeneration of a damaged cartilage. There are no strong scientific evidence to prove that sodium glucosamine sulphate is effective in restoring cartilages. However there are detailed texts in ayurveda on the root causes of this disease and the right approach to cure it. Ayurveda along with certain yoga can help people in overcoming this disease.
- Severe joint pain.
- Trouble walking, cycling or moving the hands freely (based on the affected area).
- Swelling and pain in joints affected by arthritis.
- Weight loss and muscle fatigue
- Prolonged fever.
- Popping joints.
Some of the major causes of arthritis are
- Skin infections and psoriasis
- Physical injury to the joints
- Severe change in climate
- Metabolic changes.
Ayurveda says that arthritis is caused due to vata roga (a disease caused due to the imbalance of vata dosha). Ayurveda also classifies arthritis in to different categories, but according to ayurveda the root cause is vata imbalance.
Arthritis Natural Cures:
OTC medicine like Ibuprofen (Advil) or other NSAIDs and other prescription drugs, cause severe gastrointestinal problems, such as peptic ulcers, acidity and stomach ache. In addition these medicines can hamper the natural synthesis of collagen (and in turn will affect the formation/repair of cartilage). So it is always a better idea to opt for natural remedies rather than NSIADs and pain killers.
